Forgetting that I was running the portable version, I ran 'check for updates' from the help menu in Portable Thunderbird, and it says "new version available" and 'do I want to upgrade to 3.1.8 now?' I clicked 'yes'. It just hangs on 'downloading', saying "connecting to the update server…" Below that, there is an error message:
"Thunderbird was unable to verify the integrity of the incremental update it downloaded, so it is now downloading the complete update package"
…but it never makes any progress.
It looks like the latest release of Portable Thunderbird is 3.0.4. When I click on 'about' in my version of Portable thunderbird, it tells me I'm on 3.0.11 Thunderbird for OSX is currenly on version 3.1.10
How did I get to version 3.0.11 ? Was that a mistake?
Do I need to re-install? How do I do that without eliminating my mailboxes and user data?
Thanks in advance!
