Problems with Portable Thuderbird + Intel Macbook
Up to OS X Portable Apps
Hi,
I am trying to use portable Thunderbird 2.0.0.0r3.1 on an Macbook now running OSX 10.4.11 via a USB drive (2GB).
It just will not open. Double click and it shows up in the activity monitor using 0% of CPU time. If I copy the folder to the hard drive and open I get the Thunderbird has open with success but it doesn't open. That is doesn't show up in activity monitor. Then if you open PT again I get the message that Thunderbird has quit with success!
Even more confusing is that it works on the USB drive on a G4 Mac running 10.4.11 and a Mac mini running Leopard!
Help!
Many thanks,
Teri

Cheers Gant for the reply.
Here is the console ouput:
2008-04-25 17:19:55.963 Portable Thunderbird[1355] CFLog (0):
CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): plist parse failed; the data is not proper UTF-8. The file name for this data could be:
/Volumes/STORE'N'GO/Portable Thunderbird_2.0.0.0_r3.1/Portable Thunderbird.app/Contents/Resources/AppSettings.plist
The parser will retry as in 10.2, but the problem should be corrected in the plist.

As a complete novice to the delights of Unix and console, this means nothing to me!
Thanks again,

I just understand this: file AppSetting.plis is not proper UTF-8. Don't know how to fix it. This happen also with a new/first Portable Thunderbird launch?
Cheers Gand for the continued iterest in this problem.

Any help would be super.
