SeaMonkey 2.0 Portable?
Up to OS X Portable Apps
I note that portableapps.com has added a portable version of the new SeaMonkey release. This seems like a natural for for a portable app.
It has a web browser, similar to Firefox 3.5.5
It has a mail/newsgroup/rss reader similar to Thunderbird 3.0.
It has an html editor, similar to NVu, future releases to be based on Kompozer.
It has an IRC chat client, Chatzilla.
All this in one portable application.
Via extensions, it can add Lightning, similar to Sunbird, with the functions of iCal, which runs in a tab of Mail/News.
It can also add FireFTP, a very functional FTP client, which runs in a tab of the browser.
I would highly suggest this as a project.
Is there a tutorial for making an application portbable? I would try it myself, but I have not found directions that would help me in this.

Good idea, but I'm working on a lot of projects, all during my spare time. Aslo new Portable Camino 2.0 is on my ToDo list.
There is no a tutorial, but you can have a look at Portable Firefox code. http://www.freesmug.org/portableapps/code/firefox
Easy way is download a Portable Firefox and try few code modification:

Well, I would not have thought it would be that easy! Of course, you did most of the work, I just adjusted your script.
Here are the steps I followed:
1) I made a copy of my existing Portable Firefox.
2) I adjusted the script, as you directed.
3) I deleted Firefox.app, and replaced it with SeaMonkey.app, from my Applications folder.
4) I deleted the contents of the profile folder, and replaced it with the contents of my existing SM profile.
I now have a functional Portable SeaMonkey 2.0!!
I replaced the appIcon with the SeaMonkey icon as well.
I am going to test it this week on several Mac's at my two schools. Assuming all is well, I would like to offer this to the community. How would I do that?

Well, the testing has been very successful. I've run the Portable SeaMonkey with PPC Tiger machines at one school, and on Intel Leopard machines at the other. response is a little slow, as one might expect with a portable on an older machine, but very functional. I do hope some interest will come of this, its a real handy thing with the calendar and FTP client added, and really not that space hungry. Its less then Portable Firefox and Thunderbird, even without considering it replaces Portable NVu, Cyberduck, Sunbird, the various RSS readers as well.
