can't copy TP OSX to FAT32 USB drive

Posted by Tbob Tubb at January 30. 2008
I have a creative labs MuVo music player, which works fine for most intents and purposes. I have the Windows version of Thunderbird Portable on it, and it works fine, but I'm a crossover user, and I want to have the mac version on there as well.

Every time I try to drag the application to my USB drive, it begins to copy, and then stops, saying it can't copy the file "icon
" to the drive because the filename includes an invalid character. The "icon[...]" actually appears like that, wrapping onto a new line in the error window. Is there any way to find/rename this file, or just exclude it from the transfer? It is causing the whole app not to be copied.

Anyone know a workaround for this? I'm hope app's functionality doesn't rely on a file name!

Try to zip it (ctrl+clik > Create Archive of... or Compress), copy on your USB and then unzip.

Elsewhere you can find file "icon " inside the application bundle with ctrl+click > Show package Content.
