Portable Mail does not start '...home directory full'

Posted by fmma at January 11. 2008
Dear Portable Mail users,

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm running Portable Mail on a 2 Gbyte USB stick, which has 900 Mbyte free space. Portable Mail is 300 Mbyte big.

If I start Posrtable Mail, I get the following message:

"Mail canot update your mailboxes because your home dirrctory is full."

You must free up space in your home folder...
[Quit]

I', very puzzeled ablut this. How can I access my mail ?

Many Thanks in advance

Are you on 10.4 or 10.5? You can try also to run your PortableMail from your Desktop folder on your HardDrive to know if is only a USB space problem.

It seem a "Owner & Permission" issue. Show Info of your Portable Mail.app (Cmd+i) and check if "You can Read and Write" on Ownership & Permission info.
