Max has the following features:
- Error-correcting audio extraction process using cdparanoia
- Ability to generate MP3, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis output
- Integrated with FreeDB to automatically acquire disc information using libcddb
- Output tagged with album, artist, and track information using TagLib
- Growl support for notification of ripping and encoding status
- Automatic encoding of new discs
- Multithreaded encoding, with user-configurable number of threads
- User-configurable output file naming

- Fixed multithreaded issue in ripper log that could cause ripping to hang
Known issues:
- iTunes still displays numbers instead of strings for genres (due to mishandling of ID3v2.4 tags)
- Not all output formats are tagged with metadata
